The Upack national number customer service, were actually great and so was ABF local out of Kent, WA. However Houston is 0 stars, and do not deserve one star. The custumer service lady asked me, "Do you want me to go to Dallas and put the cubes on my back." Frankly, yes I would like the company to do all they can to drive 3.5 hours away to get my 2 cube which we desparately need. Every week I am told the cubes are still in Dallas. I have had to rebuy clothing, furniture and other household items. This delay is costing me money. Every other day I receive a different day my items will arrive. Now more than one week late. First it was the weather which is bull because my family drove from Seattle to Houston, stayed 4 nights in hotels and still made it in 4 days despite leaving Seattle after our items shipped mid-February. Tomorrow March 8th, I plan to file a complaint with FMCSA 1-888-DOT-SAFT and other agencies that represent Veterans and federal employees. I now feel I am a victim of fraud and possibly theft by ABF.

DO NOT TRUST THESE A#*HOLES! 5 Days before my trailer was to be delivered after making my reservation over 6 weeks ago, I was told they can't do anything for me and cancelled my reservation with no offer to help me what so ever! Now I have a 4 bedroom house ready to be moved and nothing to pack into and no one to even help me pack because the folks I had scheduled to help all have other places to be after this date.

My experience started with my pod being delivered and almost picked up without it being loaded, even though I did not request pickup. Since then my pod has been sitting at the same center for 36 hours. I’ve spoken to multiple reps who assured me it would be shipped last night but there it sits this morning. Very frustrating

DO NOT UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES USE THIS…

DO NOT UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES USE THIS COMPANY!!!! This has been the worse experience I have ever had! First they didn’t tell us how much time we had to load the truck, then they called and YELLED at me because I didn’t have the trailer packed on time, I’m serious! The guy yelled at me!
After they got the trailer their “system glitched” and said my trailer was in Salt Lake City for 186 hours, when it never even left Tacoma! The trailer was supposed to be here over a week ago, finally made it to Oklahoma and they won’t bring it out until tomorrow! I got a call at 7 am it’s here and they won’t bring it until tomorrow after all their mess ups! I will never use this company again!

Read BEFORE you spend

Read BEFORE you spend. I’m not a complainer, in fact, most often the opposite. That said, I feel compelled to share my experience. My wife and our five kids are moving 1,800 miles. We received a quote from U-Pack and two other companies. U-Pack was the lowest. Once we agreed to do business with them, I was directed by Brandon (from U-Pack) to call ABF Freight to arrange the drop off of the semi trailer. I found it odd that I had to call another company but went along with it, after all, what do I know about moving across country? I scheduled the drop off of the trailer with ABF, then called U-Pack back to inform them, and to confirm that their loaders would be at our home on that date, to load the trailer. Talked to a different agent this time. Told by that U-Pack agent that I would have to call “Moving Staffers” in order to schedule the loading. I asked, politely, why I had to call yet another third party company in order to schedule the loading of the semi trailer. This rep told me that U-Pack doesn’t actually own the loading and unloading end of their business, so the customer has to schedule the loading. I explained that when I first called U-Pack, I was told they offered a loading service. The rep said, “well we do offer it!” Unreal. So, yet again I called the company named Moving Staffers” and scheduled them. This is three months before the move. Now, a month before, I get an email from the loaders, confirming a date. I found a discrepancy so I phoned them, then figured I best call U-Pack to make sure they have everything right. Well guess what, they didn’t. This time, I was talking to yet a different rep at U-Pack. She confirmed the date for the trailer to be dropped off at my residence as the16th of the month. I couldn’t believe what I was hearing. I told her that the 16th wasn’t the date for the trailer delivery, that it was the date of final destination. I said “how in the hell does this get mixed up? I’m paying U-Pack nearly $8,000 and you can’t even get dates correct!” I went on to explain that I had finalized the dates more than one time and also expressed my near disbelief that I was the guy doing all the organizing. I asked why I had to make all the phone calls and ended my sentence with “that doesn’t made any damn sense!” Ready for this? This kid says “sir, you must stop using vulgarity when you’re speaking with me, and if you don’t, I’ll be terminating this call. Vulgarities? I told her “damn and hell” weren’t vulgarities, but utterances of frustration at the miserable business model U-Pack was using. It gets better. She began asking me why I called ABF Freight “in the first place.” I told her, because Brandon told me to. I’m not kidding, she asked the same question multiple times. I couldn’t take it any longer. I told her that I’d already answered the question more than once, suggested she stop playing detective and fix the problem. At this point I’m raising my voice as she’s pushed too many buttons. She referred again to my earlier vise of “vulgarities” and also protested my use of the word “detective” and hung up the phone. I called back and got a different rep. He listened to my story and said that I’d used “disparaging” language and that I offended his coworker. I’m now in complete disbelief and asked for a supervisor. Supervisor picks up five minutes later and tells me this. When a customer gets upset, it’s their policy that because the move hasn’t even started yet, that they feel it’s best to “go our separate ways” because they feel they won’t make me happy no matter what they do. I explained that I’d been very polite and kind during all my dealings with everyone at U-Pack, until the point at which I became frustrated with U-Pack getting the date of the move wrong, and in trying to change the date, expressed my disappointment with having to call other vendors. In a rather condescending tone he said that he would listen to the recorded conversations and said this. “I’ll listen, then I’ll call you back with a final decision as to whether or not we can work together. This was comedy at it’s worst. There you have it. This company actually thought I was going to HOPE they would be kind enough to let me give them $8,000? The entire organization is infected with snowflakes that, at the use of the words “damn” and “hell,” toss out the victim card and hang up the phone. Cancel culture at its finest. Two simple sentences would have fixed everything. “I’m so sorry that date got mixed up. Let’s fix that for you right now.” DONE. But nope, not at U-Pack. Let’s antagonize an already upset customer and when he starts raising his voice, let’s start interrogating him. So, I wound up calling a PROFESSIONAL moving company! Turned out to be one of the big boys that I assumed would be expensive. They came in at nearly $400 less than U-Pack and, you guessed it, ONE CALL did it. U-Pack was a NIGHTMARE!

Slow and rude!!!

Slow and rude!!!! Do not ever use their service!
Customer service people are not very helpful and they delayed my shipment by almost a week. I had to call at every step to remind them and track where my items were and how I can make the shipment faster.

Overall Great Experience

I must say I was highly discouraged from using U-Pack after seeing all the bad reviews. In fact, the night before my cube was set to be delivered I tried to cancel and switch to another provider. But boy am I happy I used this company. The cube was dropped off on time in Ohio. It was picked up on time and delivered to California in just 6 days total. No physical or water damage in the cube. Great communication along the way when I needed to change my cube pick up date and my method of payment. ZERO HICCUPS.

Stay AWAY!

The order creation was nice and easy and everyone was friendly. Then came out the true nature of y’all. Delivery day came and no cube till after the allotted time. When calling to inquire on eta, I was told it would be there any time. It was such a horrendous experience with everything scheduled and movers waiting to load and elevator scheduled but no cube. Had to escalate and put a rush and cube arrived a hour later. Movers ended up charging 200$ While giving us such a hard time. Spoke to a manager /supervisor next morning expressing concerns and he was very arrogant and hung up the phone. Not sure bc heat kind of management personnel y’all hire. Pick up day came next day and again, done one showed up like 8 hours later. It’s a condo that has a permit for overnight parking and yet again I had chase after your folks at 10 pm for pick up. You guys seriously need to get your acts together. I’d never use such company with such ethics and staff behaviour. All this was the pain we had to endure moving an elderly lady. My grandmother. I’d ask everyone do themselves a favour and stay away.

Unpack took advantage of us in Covid

We hired unpack to move us to Georgia. By the time we had arrived there our contractor had contracted Covid and was going to be out of work for an unforeseen amount of time due to complications. We decided to head to my parents place in Florida till we could figure out a next step and asked upack of storage was available. They told us 500/month. Once we got situated we requested it be shipped to the new address. Not only was the few hours away going to cost us another $2000 to ship it but they would not prorate the 10 days of storage we used. They said we owed the entire 500. I asked for Neils managers information and he refused to provide it. He said I wouldn’t get a different answer from them. He refused to provide a last name. He also said, it was written in our contract that they don’t prorate storage. Considering that storage was never discussed, the representative that organization the storage for us, should have mentioned that.
Yes, this situation was something we were going to have to accept and pay the additional money for but this company took advantage of our bad circumstances. So all together almost $5000. They should be ashamed. Covid put us in a bad situation and upack was happy to reap the benefits.
